The Front fell off...

An oil tanker off the coast of Australia split in two, dumping 20,000 tons of crude oil.

Senator Collins, a member of the Australian Parliament, appeared on a TV news program to reassure the Australian public.

This actual interview is so funny, you'd swear it was a 'Saturday Night Live' skit. Click the link to see the you tube.

It really sounds like a Monty Python skit

List of everyday things to be careful when doing:

1. Drinking a cup of hot coffee (burn hazard)

2. Eating donuts (choking hazard)

3. Cutting the crust off your PB & J (cutting hazard)

4. Driving a great big bomb around (boom hazard).

OK, this picture makes me sweat just looking at it. I bet the driver's jaw dropped faster than the gazillion-pound bomb he was toting around.

Hey! I have that picture on one of my safety training videos to show people how seriously things can go wrong! It always lightens the mood of the class. I have been using it two years now! :)

Can Do at its Worst~

I honestly tried to think of something nice to say about this photo, but just couldn't think of anything. So let's analyze it, shall we?

This prime example of human ingenuity shows a man standing barefoot on a metal ladder in a swimming pool with an electric drill held loosely in his hands...the plug gingerly tied and dangling next to his dripping wet, half soaked torso. You have to give him credit though...at least he's wearing safety goggles.

Want to hear a story? This car is driving down the street when suddenly another car cuts in front of it, forcing the driver to make a drastic move that splats the shiny red tomato into the trunk of an oak. Logical explanation, right?

Had me hooked, too. That is until the driver mentioned to the EMT that she was on two medications at the time: Tylenol w/Codeine and Valium. Now I'm not saying she fell asleep at the wheel...after all, that surely wasn't mentioned in the story. But maybe, just maybe the effects of two very potent medications had a role in the premature termination of this person's trip home.

Let's get real...there is a reason they put those big, red, bold-face stickers on your prescription bottles telling you to not drive or operate machinery while on that medicine. A driver that is sleepy and disoriented because of medication is just as dangerous as a person who chugs a six pack of beer before hitting the road. By the way, the UI in DUI stands for "Under the Influence" of alcohol or drugs...so if you do medicate yourself and drive, you're DUI.

I have found a website full of wonderful photos, from the Naval Safety Center. They are different photos that show the idiots that exist in our society, that don't think about safety when they are doing things. They each come with a description of the situation. I will try to post one a day. Enjoy!!!!

A rather shocking discovery was made during a routine safety inspection at a command in Newport, RI. A hungry rat, dead by electrocution, was found poking out from an electrical socket inside one of the buildings. These pesky critters don't typically go inside the buildings, but are common outside because of the building's proximity to the bay.

I wonder if the rat said "cheese" when they took it's picture...

SORRY RAT!!!!
